Descriptions

Three lengths. Lift whichever fits — all are accurate as shipped.

One line

Your game saves, with an undo button.

Short

Never lose a save again. Every backup is kept as a version, so a corrupted file or a bad night
rolls back in seconds. Presets for 147 games and 7 emulators — modded
Minecraft, Stardew, Valheim, Skyrim. Free plan, no subscription.

Medium (~90 words)

Checkpoint64 backs up your PC game saves while you play and keeps every version, so a corrupted
world, a bad patch, or a decision you immediately regret is one click from undone. It watches the
save folder rather than hooking the game, which means it covers what Steam Cloud doesn't: emulators,
modded setups, and GOG or Epic copies whose developers never wired Cloud up. Groups sharing one
world get a save with an ownership lock, so nobody overwrites anyone's evening. Free to download,
with a free plan that isn't a trial.

Long (~180 words)

Most players assume their saves are covered. They usually aren't, and they find out at the worst
possible moment.

Steam Cloud syncs — its job is to make your latest save appear on every machine you own. That's
exactly the wrong behaviour when the latest save is the broken one: it will faithfully copy a
corrupted file to all your devices before you notice anything is wrong. There's no "yesterday" to go
back to, because sync only cares about now. And Cloud only covers games whose developers implemented
it, which leaves out most emulators, a lot of modded setups, and plenty of GOG and Epic titles.

Checkpoint64 versions instead of syncing. It backs up save folders automatically while you play,
keeps every version, and restores any one of them in a click — including the version you restored
from, so rolling back never costs you where you were.

It also solves co-op's dumbest problem. Put a shared world in a team library and whoever sits down
next gets the current save, with an ownership lock so two people can't overwrite each other's
progress, and a logbook showing whose turn it was.

Features

  • Automatic backup while you play. Point it at a game once; it notices when the save changes and files a new version on its own.
  • Full version history, one-click restore. Every backup is a version. The version you restore from stays in history.
  • 147 games and 7 emulators know their own save paths out of the box — RetroArch, Dolphin, PCSX2, DuckStation, PPSSPP, RPCS3 and Cemu among them. Anything else, point it at a folder.
  • Covers what Steam Cloud doesn't — emulators, modded setups, GOG and Epic copies. It watches the folder, so it doesn't care which launcher put the game there.
  • Shared saves with an ownership lock for one-live-world co-op (Valheim, Factorio, Satisfactory), plus a per-team activity logbook.
  • Only changed files upload. A 500 MB world re-uploads as a few MB after a normal session.
  • Installed-game detection scans your Steam library and offers what it recognises.
  • Discord integration — link an account and the bot DMs teammates on a manual commit or restore of a shared save.
  • Save files only. It never touches games or ROMs.

Pricing and availability

Free to download, and the free plan is a real one rather than a time-limited trial.

  • Lifetime — one-time payment, more storage. Available direct and on Steam.
  • Pro — for larger groups. A one-time unlock on Steam; a monthly subscription when bought directly. There are no subscriptions of any kind on Steam.
  • No per-seat charge on any tier.

Exact prices live on the Steam page and in the pricing section of checkpoint64.com — please take them from there, so there is one number to update rather than two.

Assets

On request — email press@checkpoint64.com

  • Nine 1920×1200 screenshots of the real desktop app: the game shelf, the version-history timeline, per-file view of a version, settings, teams, a team logbook, a team library, a world locked by a teammate, and the add-game browser.
  • Trailer footage.
  • A review unlock, so you can test the paid tiers properly.

The two screenshots worth leading with are the version-history timeline and the save locked by a teammate — the timeline is the whole product in one image, and the lock is the part no platform cloud has an answer to.
